Jim Nichols has 42 years of experience in land surveying and civil engineering-related fields. As Senior Project Manager, Jim leads Barraza Consulting Group’s team of surveyors and manages all aspects of land surveying, including boundary surveys, plats and easements, and is responsible for daily operations and project deliverables. Jim is a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in Texas, a Professional Land Surveyor in Oklahoma and a member of Texas Society of Professional Land Surveyors and Oklahoma Society of Professional Land Surveyors. He has an Associates Degree in civil technology from Kansas Technical Institute and an impressive portfolio of master-planned development projects. Among his hobbies, Jim is a sports enthusiast and enjoys fitness training.

Christie Hancock has 25 years of land development experience and is certified in planning by the American Institute of Certified Planners. As Senior Planner, she oversees the development of design ideas aligned with community-specific human and environmental needs and develops a strategy to ensure efficient, ethical land use. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in geography, earned a Master Certificate in public affairs from The University of Texas at Dallas and is a member of American Planning Association. Christie’s hobbies include road trips across the United States with her family, fossil hunting, oil painting, live musical theater and being involved with Dallas Paleontological Society.

As Project Manager, Rodney Velasquez oversees projects from contract document preparation and bidding through execution and owner acceptance. Since earning a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Texas Tech University, he has performed feasibility studies, design, analysis, cost estimating and project and construction management encompassing many aspects of civil engineering during his nine-year career. A licensed Professional Engineer in Texas, Rodney also has experience in public and private bidding and construction services, construction management and municipal utility district engineering. His hobbies include playing soccer, attending concerts and hanging out with his dogs.

As Project Manager, Matt Clark is responsible for all aspects of land development, from conceptualization, due diligence and entitlements to permitting, design and delivery of the built environment. He has 15 years of experience in project engineering and project management, is certified as a Professional Engineer in Texas and earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington. Matt serves on the Board of Directors of the Dallas Chapter of Texas Society of Professional Engineers and was the chapter’s 2018 Young Engineer of the Year. In his free time, Matt enjoys playing with his children and dogs, and he rolls up his sleeves for never-ending home improvement projects.

Alex Gonzales-Rodiles has more than eight years of experience in the Dallas-Fort Worth market area. As Project Manager, he tailors solutions for municipal and single-family residential projects. During his career, Alex also has been involved in private-sector industrial site design, master-planned residential communities and multi-family developments. He also has served as District Engineer for local water districts. Alex is certified as a Professional Engineer in Texas, completed the A/E/C Project Management Association’s rigorous A/E/C Project Management Bootcamp focused on project management in the architecture, engineering and construction industry, and earned a Bachelor of Science in engineering from McNeese State University. An outdoor and wildlife enthusiast, he enjoys SCAA autocross racing, live music and sporting events, and helping others.
